From Code to Cast: Pouring Baits and the Digital Bridge Behind Them
5/3/2026
A little more about thedude@cliffbait.com.
By day, I build software. By night, I’m hand-pouring baits, testing them, tweaking them, and figuring out what actually gets big bass to commit. At some point, those two worlds stopped running in parallel and started feeding each other.

Instead of just making something that works in the water, I built a way to bring it online.
Everything you’re looking at here is part of that system. The website, the flow, even how this post shows up on your screen.

Under the hood, it’s built with Next.js, a modern framework for building fast web applications. It’s hosted on Vercel, which basically means it’s deployed to the internet in a way that’s fast, scalable, and always live.
For content, I use Wix as a CMS. Think of it like a simple editor where I can create and manage blog posts and product updates without breaking anything. My custom code pulls that content in and displays it here, styled and structured exactly how I want it using Tailwind for design.
So in simple terms: Wix holds the content, Next.js builds the experience, Vercel delivers it to you instantly.
One hand smells like plastisol. The other is arguing with a keyboard.

This isn’t just about making lures. It’s about proving something in the real world, then building a digital system around it so you can see it, trust it, and try it yourself.
And now that system is live. You’re welcome 😛 Enjoy, cliffbait.com
p.s. look for other random adventures like this, where you create a qr code, have it be a funny message then send it, share it, stick it, wear it, use your imagination.
